LOT 847 Songye Power Figure Congo, Central Africa Kalembwe-style standing anthropomorphic bisexual power figure with a deep brown patina. The stylized head with an antelope horn surmount is adorned with hammered pieces of copper in diverse geometric designs and with a monkey skin beard. The figure has a beaded necklace crossing over the chest and fetish pieces below the breast wrapped in python skin. A genet skin hangs from the same level. The hands are large and stylized and hold the belly toward the umbilicus. A miniature full-bodied figure is attached to the side of the arms. The legs are strong and short. A roughly woven cache-sex covers the penis.
